GoHighLevel does not send iMessages on its own. Its built-in texting runs over carrier SMS, so blue bubbles require an add-on such as iBluSend (often searched as “ibluesend”), Sendblue or myCRMSIM. Most of these route messages through a Mac and iPhone you own, then sync the conversation back into GHL.
This guide explains how those add-ons connect, what iBluSend actually costs, how iMessage compares with SMS and WhatsApp, and the account, compliance and reliability trade-offs most vendor pages skip. If you run client accounts, the risks section matters more than the feature list.
Why do agencies want blue texts in GoHighLevel?
Agencies want blue texts because an iMessage looks like a personal message from a real person, not a business broadcast. It shows read receipts, supports reactions and voice memos, and avoids the carrier SMS rules, fees and filtering that apply to standard GoHighLevel texting.
Standard GoHighLevel texting goes out as carrier SMS through LC-Phone or a connected provider. In the US that means A2P 10DLC registration with The Campaign Registry (TCR), per-segment fees, carrier filtering and the familiar “Reply STOP” footer on marketing messages.
An iMessage sits in the same thread as messages from friends and family. That personal feel is the whole appeal for sales teams, real estate agents and service businesses.
The catch is that Apple does not offer a public iMessage API for CRMs. Every blue text option for GHL is a workaround or a separate Apple program, and each one comes with limits you should understand before moving client conversations onto it.
How do iMessage add-ons connect to GHL?
iMessage add-ons connect to GoHighLevel in one of three ways: a self-hosted bridge running on your own Mac and iPhone, hosted lines run by the vendor, or Apple Messages for Business. Replies sync into the GHL Conversations inbox, and add-on actions can be used in workflows.
- Self-hosted bridge: software on your own Mac, signed in to your own Apple Account and paired with an iPhone, relays messages to and from GoHighLevel. iBluSend and myCRMSIM work this way.
- Hosted lines: the vendor provisions a dedicated number on its own infrastructure and connects it to GHL. Sendblue sells lines this way, with automatic SMS fallback for non-iPhone contacts.
- Apple Messages for Business: Apple’s official business chat channel, delivered through an Apple-approved Messaging Service Provider. It is built for customer-started conversations, such as tapping a “Message us” button, not outbound texting from a CRM list.
In the bridge and hosted models, the add-on exposes its own workflow actions so messages can be sent from automations alongside your pipelines, triggers and custom fields. iMessage vs SMS vs WhatsApp in GoHighLevel
Standard SMS reaches every phone but needs A2P 10DLC registration. iMessage feels personal but only reaches Apple devices and depends on an add-on. WhatsApp suits international contacts and follows Meta’s business messaging rules. Most businesses need SMS as the base channel, with the others layered on top.
| Channel | Reaches | Registration or rules | Runs on | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GHL SMS (LC-Phone or provider) | Every mobile phone | A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration, carrier fees | Native GoHighLevel | Reminders, confirmations, compliant campaigns |
| iMessage via an add-on | Apple devices only | Apple’s account terms; consent laws still apply | Your Mac and iPhone, or vendor-hosted lines | Warm one-to-one conversations |
| Contacts who use WhatsApp | Meta’s business messaging policies and templates | WhatsApp integrations for GHL | International and chat-first customers |

What is iBluSend?
iBluSend is a self-hosted iMessage bridge built for GoHighLevel, with separate integrations for HubSpot, Follow Up Boss, Close, Pipedrive and Attio. The company states it will not offer hosted lines: you keep your Apple Account, your number and your Mac.
What you need
iBluSend’s own requirements are a Mac mini with an M1 chip or newer and at least 16 GB of RAM, plus an iPhone 11 or newer. The Mac has to stay powered on and online. Hardware and carrier service are not included in the subscription.
Its GHL tools run inside your own GoHighLevel account or agency account. The vendor notes they do not support a sub-account managed under another agency, which matters if you are a client of an agency rather than the agency itself.
What it adds inside GoHighLevel
- Two-way iMessages in GHL conversations, including photos, Apple voice memos, tapbacks and screen effects
- Delivery, read and failed badges on outgoing messages
- Device routing when you run several lines
- Group thread messaging on Starter and above
- FaceTime Audio calling and a power dialer on Pro and Agency
- Android SMS “bridge” devices on Starter and above, which send SMS from a SIM on your own carrier plan
Sending limits
iBluSend caps how many new, never-replied contacts each line can message per day: 30 by default and up to 50 on a warmed line (25 on the Solo plan). Once a contact replies, later messages stop counting against that cold-outreach limit. The vendor is clear these are its own guardrails, not an Apple guarantee.
How much does iBluSend cost?
iBluSend charges a flat monthly fee per plan with no per-message charges, from $39 per month for one line to $399 per month for fifteen lines. You also pay for a Mac, an iPhone and a carrier plan for each line, which the subscription does not include.
These are the prices listed on its pricing page as of October 2026:
| Plan | Price | iMessage lines | New contacts per day | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $39/month | 1 | 25 | Monthly only, no trial, no Android SMS or API |
| Starter | $79/month | 2 | 60–100 | 7-day trial, 2 Android SMS devices, core GHL tools |
| Pro | $199/month | 5 | 150–250 | 7-day trial, power dialer, FaceTime Audio |
| Agency | $399/month | 15 | 450–750 | White-label client portal, custom domain, up to 50 team members |
Annual billing is offered on Starter, Pro and Agency.
How that compares with other options
- Sendblue: a free sandbox for testing, then $100 per month per dedicated line on its AI Agent plan. That plan is inbound-first; full outbound messaging sits on its custom-priced Enterprise plan.
- myCRMSIM: another Mac-and-iPhone bridge sold to GHL users. We cover it separately in an upcoming review.
- Native GHL SMS: usage-based carrier pricing plus A2P registration. See our GoHighLevel SMS pricing breakdown for current rates, and what LeadConnector is if those charges on your statement confuse you.
What are the hidden costs of a blue text setup?
The hidden costs of a GoHighLevel iMessage setup sit outside the subscription. They include a Mac and iPhone per line, a carrier plan per phone, staff time to monitor the devices, and a separate SMS path for Android contacts. Add these before comparing it with native SMS.
- Hardware per line: each bridged line needs its own Mac and iPhone that meet the vendor’s requirements.
- Carrier service: every iPhone needs its own phone plan, paid separately.
- Monitoring time: someone has to notice when a Mac sleeps, logs out of Messages or installs an update, and fix it.
- A second channel for Android: you still need SMS for non-Apple contacts, which brings back A2P 10DLC registration and carrier fees.
- Account risk: if Apple restricts the Apple Account behind a line, conversations on that number stop until it is resolved.
What are the deliverability and compliance trade-offs?
Blue text add-ons trade carrier rules for Apple’s rules. Apple’s iCloud terms prohibit unsolicited and bulk commercial messages, consent laws still apply, consumer iMessage is not suitable for protected health information, and a bridge depends on hardware staying online. Weigh these before moving client conversations to iMessage.
Apple’s account terms
Bridge tools send from an ordinary Apple Account. Apple’s iCloud terms prohibit sending unsolicited messages, spam or bulk commercial advertising, and also bar accessing the service through automated means. Heavy cold outreach from a bridge puts that Apple Account at risk, and with it the number your contacts know.
Consent rules still apply
Skipping A2P 10DLC does not mean skipping consent. iBluSend itself states that users are responsible for getting recipient consent and complying with messaging laws. Treat iMessage like any other business text: collect clear opt-in, honor opt-outs and keep records.
Regulated industries
Apple’s iCloud terms say covered entities and business associates under HIPAA must not use the service to create, receive or transmit protected health information. That makes consumer iMessage bridges a poor fit for patient messaging in dental, med spa and chiropractic accounts. Our GoHighLevel HIPAA compliance guide covers safer setups.
Financial advisors, insurance agents and other firms with record-keeping duties should also confirm how iMessage threads will be archived before using them.
Reliability
A bridge is only as dependable as the hardware behind it. A Mac that sleeps, loses power, logs out of Messages or installs an update can pause sending until someone fixes it. Plan who monitors the devices, especially if you manage lines for several clients.
Android contacts
iMessage only reaches Apple devices. You still need an SMS path for everyone else, whether that is the vendor’s fallback, an Android bridge device or standard GHL SMS. Each path carries its own rules and costs.
Is GoHighLevel iMessage worth it?
GoHighLevel iMessage is worth it for one-to-one conversations with people who already know you, such as lead follow-up, appointment confirmations and past-client check-ins. It is a poor replacement for registered SMS on large lists, promotional blasts or regulated health and finance messaging.
For most businesses the strongest setup is both: compliant A2P SMS as the backbone, with iMessage reserved for warm, personal threads. Real estate teams are a common fit, because agents already text clients one to one. See how we set up GoHighLevel for real estate.
Questions we suggest asking any vendor before you buy:
- What happens to sending if the Mac or iPhone goes offline, and how will we know?
- Which per-line limits apply, and what does the vendor recommend for new lines?
- How are opt-outs captured and synced back to the GHL contact?
- Does it work in our account type (agency vs sub-account)?
- What is the fallback for Android contacts, and what does it cost?
Texts not getting through? Fix SMS first
If carrier filtering or a rejected A2P registration is the real reason you are looking at iMessage, fix the SMS foundation first. A registered, well-configured SMS setup reaches every phone, and blue texts can be layered on top for warm conversations once the basics work.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can GoHighLevel send iMessages natively?
No. GoHighLevel’s built-in texting uses carrier SMS through LC-Phone or a connected provider. Blue bubble iMessages require a third-party add-on such as iBluSend, Sendblue or myCRMSIM. These tools either relay messages through your own Mac and iPhone or through vendor-hosted lines, then sync the conversation into the GHL Conversations inbox.
Is iBluSend the same as iBlueSend?
Yes. The product is spelled iBluSend, but many people search for it as “ibluesend” or “iblusend.” It is a self-hosted iMessage bridge for GoHighLevel and other CRMs. You run it on your own Mac mini paired with an iPhone, and plans range from $39 to $399 per month, with hardware and carrier service paid separately.
Do I need A2P 10DLC registration to send iMessages from GHL?
iMessages sent from your own Apple Account do not travel over carrier SMS, so A2P 10DLC registration does not apply to them. Any SMS fallback to Android contacts still follows carrier rules. Consent requirements and Apple’s own terms against unsolicited and bulk commercial messages apply regardless of the channel you use.
Can my Apple Account get banned for business iMessages?
It can be at risk. Apple’s iCloud terms prohibit unsolicited messages, spam, bulk commercial advertising and automated access to the service. Messaging people who have opted in and keeping volumes modest lowers the risk, but no vendor can guarantee Apple will not restrict an account used for heavy outbound messaging.
Is iMessage through GoHighLevel HIPAA compliant?
Not through consumer bridge tools. Apple’s iCloud terms state that HIPAA covered entities and business associates must not use the service to create, receive or transmit protected health information. Healthcare businesses should keep patient communication on channels covered by a business associate agreement and use iMessage, if at all, only for non-PHI messages.
What happens if the Mac running my iMessage bridge goes offline?
With a self-hosted bridge, messages on that line stop sending until the Mac and iPhone are back online and signed in to Messages. Conversations already in GoHighLevel stay in the inbox. Plan who monitors each device, and keep standard SMS available so urgent reminders still reach contacts while a line is down.
