A GoHighLevel ActiveCampaign integration has no official one-click connector as of October 2026, so you link the two tools through Zapier or Make, through webhooks, or through the two APIs. Most setups need just two syncs: new HighLevel contacts flow into an ActiveCampaign list with a tag, and an ActiveCampaign tag starts a HighLevel workflow. This guide shows how to build both, how to map fields, and when it makes more sense to move everything into HighLevel.
Is there a native GoHighLevel ActiveCampaign integration?
No. We checked both sides in October 2026. HighLevel’s help center covers ActiveCampaign only in a migration guide, which moves data with CSV exports and imports and rebuilds automations by hand. It does not describe a live sync.
ActiveCampaign’s official app directory has no HighLevel or LeadConnector listing. Third-party apps may appear in the HighLevel App Marketplace over time, so check inside your own account before you build anything.
That leaves three practical routes. Each one works, and the right choice depends on your budget and how comfortable you are with technical setup.
What are the ways to connect HighLevel and ActiveCampaign?
| Method | How it works | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zapier (LeadConnector app) | Zapier lists HighLevel under the name LeadConnector, with ActiveCampaign as a separate app | Non-technical teams who want a visual setup | Only one LeadConnector trigger; Zapier plan limits apply |
| Make | Make offers a GoHighLevel app and an ActiveCampaign app you join in a scenario | Teams who want more control over each step | More setup choices; test each module carefully |
| Webhooks | A HighLevel workflow or ActiveCampaign automation posts contact data to a URL | One-way triggers, such as “tag added, start workflow” | ActiveCampaign does not accept incoming webhooks |
| APIs | Your own code or a HighLevel Custom Webhook calls the other platform’s API | Developers who need full control | You maintain the code, keys and error handling |
Zapier and the LeadConnector app
HighLevel’s help center confirms that its Zapier app appears under the name LeadConnector. On Zapier’s ActiveCampaign and LeadConnector page, LeadConnector has one trigger, “Pipeline Stage Changed,” plus actions such as “Add/Update Contact,” “Add Lead to Workflow” and “Add Task.”
ActiveCampaign has many more Zapier triggers, including “New Contact,” “Contact Added to List” and “Tag Added or Removed From Contact.” Its actions include “Create or Update Contact,” “Add/Remove Tag From Contact” and “Subscribe or Unsubscribe Contact From List.”
Because LeadConnector has only one trigger, most HighLevel-to-ActiveCampaign Zaps start with a HighLevel workflow webhook sent to a Zapier “Catch Hook” URL. The sync below uses several steps, so check Zapier’s plan limits before you build it.
Webhooks in both tools
HighLevel has an Inbound Webhook workflow trigger that accepts POST, GET and PUT requests at a unique URL. HighLevel’s own Zapier guide notes that this trigger needs LC Premium Triggers & Actions. Premium runs count as executions under HighLevel’s Workflows Pro plan, which has a free tier of 100 lifetime executions and paid tiers from $10 a month as of October 2026.
ActiveCampaign can send webhooks from Developer Settings or from a “Webhook” action inside an automation, on its Starter, Plus, Pro and Enterprise plans. Its help center states plainly that it does not accept incoming webhooks, so data going into ActiveCampaign has to arrive through its API or a connector.
Direct API calls
HighLevel’s Custom Webhook action can send GET, POST, PUT or DELETE requests with headers, API key or bearer authentication, and JSON or form payloads. That means a HighLevel workflow can call ActiveCampaign’s API directly with no middle tool.
ActiveCampaign’s API uses an “Api-Token” header, and its contact sync endpoint creates or updates a contact by email. Lists and tags are set through separate endpoints, so a full API build takes a few calls per contact.

How do you send new HighLevel contacts to an ActiveCampaign list?
This is the most common sync. A lead fills out a HighLevel form or books a call, and you want ActiveCampaign to add them to a list and tag them for an email sequence. Here is the Zapier version.
- In Zapier, create a Zap with Webhooks by Zapier and the “Catch Hook” trigger. Copy the URL Zapier gives you.
- In HighLevel, open Automation and create a workflow. Choose a trigger such as “Contact Created” or “Form Submitted.”
- Add a Webhook or Custom Webhook action. Paste the Zapier URL and include the email, first name, last name, phone and any custom fields you need.
- Publish the workflow and submit a test lead so Zapier receives sample data.
- In Zapier, add the ActiveCampaign “Create or Update Contact” action and map the fields from the webhook.
- Add “Subscribe or Unsubscribe Contact From List” to place the contact on your list.
- Add “Add/Remove Tag From Contact” with a clear tag, such as
source-ghl, so you can see where the contact came from. - Test with a real email you control, then turn the Zap on.
If you prefer no middle tool, point the HighLevel Custom Webhook at ActiveCampaign’s contact sync endpoint with your API token in the header. You will still need extra calls for the list and the tag, which is why most small teams start with Zapier or Make.
How do you start a HighLevel workflow from an ActiveCampaign tag?
The reverse sync is useful when ActiveCampaign scores or segments a lead and you want HighLevel to take over with texts, calls or a sales pipeline. Webhooks handle this without Zapier.
- In HighLevel, create a workflow and choose the Inbound Webhook trigger. Copy the webhook URL.
- In ActiveCampaign, create an automation with the “Tag is added” start trigger and pick your tag, for example
hot-lead. - Add the “Webhook” action, found under Workflow, and paste the HighLevel URL.
- Run a test contact through the automation so HighLevel captures sample data, which includes name, email, phone, tags and custom fields.
- Back in HighLevel, map the incoming fields and add a Create or Update Contact step, then the actions you want, such as an SMS, a task or an opportunity.
- Publish the workflow and test once more with a fresh contact.
The Zapier alternative uses the ActiveCampaign trigger “Tag Added or Removed From Contact,” then the LeadConnector actions “Add/Update Contact” and “Add Lead to Workflow.” It costs Zapier tasks but avoids premium workflow executions in HighLevel.
How should you map fields between the two platforms?
Field mapping is where most syncs break. Agree on one shared set of fields first, and create matching custom fields in both tools before you connect anything.
| HighLevel field | ActiveCampaign field | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| The main match key on both sides; always send it | ||
| First Name / Last Name | First Name / Last Name | Send separately; avoid a single “full name” field |
| Phone | Phone | Use one consistent format, ideally with country code |
| Tags | Tags | Use a prefix such as ghl- or ac- to show the origin |
| Custom fields | Custom fields | ActiveCampaign identifies custom fields by ID in the API |
| Opportunity and stage | Deal and stage | Sync only if both teams work deals; otherwise keep pipelines in one tool |
| DND (Do Not Disturb) | Unsubscribe status | Opt-outs must be carried across by hand or by automation |
| Source / attribution | Custom field or tag | Record which tool created the contact |
What problems should you watch for?
Duplicate contacts
Both tools match contacts mainly by email. If one side sends a phone number with no email, or the same person uses two addresses, you get duplicates. Use “create or update” actions instead of “create” actions, and require email on every form that feeds the sync.
ActiveCampaign also says it delivers webhooks “at least once,” which means a single event can arrive twice. Build your HighLevel workflow so a repeat run updates the same contact instead of starting a second sequence.
Double emailing
Running nurture emails in both tools is the fastest way to annoy leads. Pick one platform for marketing email and one for SMS and sales follow-up, and write that rule down for your team.
A simple split works well: ActiveCampaign sends newsletters and long nurture, while HighLevel handles texts, calls, booking reminders and the pipeline. Then use tags to stop one tool’s sequence when the other takes over.
Consent and opt-outs
An unsubscribe in ActiveCampaign does not reach HighLevel on its own, and a STOP reply in HighLevel does not reach ActiveCampaign. Add a webhook or Zap for opt-outs in each direction, and test it before you send a campaign.
Texting U.S. contacts from HighLevel also needs A2P 10DLC registration and clear consent language on your forms. Keep a record of where and when each contact opted in.
Loops and costs
If tool A updates tool B, and tool B’s change triggers an update back to tool A, you can create an endless loop. Filter each trigger by tag or source so a contact only syncs once per change.
Every webhook, Zap and premium workflow step is a small usage cost. Watch Zapier task counts and HighLevel premium executions during the first month.
When should you migrate to HighLevel instead of running both?
Running two platforms makes sense for a while, such as during a trial or when your email program in ActiveCampaign is complex and working well. It gets harder to justify when you are paying for two subscriptions, two sets of usage and a connector to keep them in step.
Consider a full move when most of these are true:
- You already use HighLevel for forms, calendars, texting or pipelines.
- Your team spends time fixing sync errors or duplicate contacts.
- Your ActiveCampaign automations are mostly simple sequences you could rebuild in HighLevel workflows.
- You want one contact record, one inbox and one report.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does GoHighLevel integrate natively with ActiveCampaign?
Not as of October 2026. HighLevel’s help center only offers an ActiveCampaign migration guide, and ActiveCampaign’s app directory has no HighLevel listing. To keep the two in sync, use Zapier, Make, webhooks or the APIs. Check the HighLevel App Marketplace in your account, since third-party apps can appear there over time.
What is the LeadConnector app on Zapier?
LeadConnector is the name HighLevel uses for its Zapier app, as confirmed in HighLevel’s help center. You connect it by signing in to your account from inside Zapier. As of October 2026, it offers one trigger, “Pipeline Stage Changed,” and actions such as “Add/Update Contact,” “Add Lead to Workflow” and “Add Task.”
Can ActiveCampaign send data to GoHighLevel without Zapier?
Yes. Add a “Webhook” action to an ActiveCampaign automation and point it at the URL from a HighLevel Inbound Webhook trigger. ActiveCampaign sends name, email, phone, tags and custom fields. The Inbound Webhook is a premium trigger in HighLevel, so each run counts toward your Workflows Pro executions.
Can GoHighLevel send contacts to ActiveCampaign without Zapier?
Yes, with HighLevel’s Custom Webhook action calling ActiveCampaign’s API directly. You add your ActiveCampaign API token as a header and post the contact to the contact sync endpoint. Lists and tags need separate API calls, so this route suits teams who are comfortable testing API requests.
How do I stop duplicate contacts when syncing?
Use email as the match key on both sides and require it on every form that feeds the sync. Choose “create or update” actions instead of “create” actions. Because ActiveCampaign may deliver a webhook more than once, design HighLevel workflows so a repeat run updates the same contact rather than starting another sequence.
Is it cheaper to run both tools or move to HighLevel?
It depends on your contact count and ActiveCampaign plan, so compare your actual bills. Running both means two subscriptions, two sets of usage and connector costs such as Zapier tasks or premium workflow runs. Add those up for a typical month, then compare the total with a single HighLevel plan plus its usage. Many small teams also find one platform easier to manage day to day.
